Not a birthday? Measure from a moment
What this age calculator does
Give it a date of birth and it returns your chronological age — the count used by schools, clinics, forms and competitive exams. The headline reads in years, months and days; below it, the same lifespan is resolved into total months, weeks, days, hours, minutes and live seconds.
Need something more specific? Work out your age from your date of birth, track a baby’s age in weeks and months, check your eligibility age as on an exam cut-off date, or count down to retirement.
How EPOCH counts
- 01
The common reckoning
Your age advances on your birthday and not a day before. Someone who has lived three years and eleven months is three — until the calendar comes round again. EPOCH counts the way the world does.
- 02
Whole months, then the remainder
Month lengths are uneven, so EPOCH fills complete calendar months first and reports the leftover days separately. Feb 28 to Mar 31 reads as one month and three days — the honest count, not an average.
- 03
Leap days included
The day math walks the real calendar rather than a 30-day stand-in, so every February 29 along the way is counted exactly once. No rounding, no drift.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate my exact age?
Enter your date of birth in the first field and leave the second on today’s date. EPOCH returns your age in completed years, months and days, and breaks the same span down into weeks, hours, minutes and seconds.
How old am I if I was born in 2000?
Pick your full date of birth in 2000 — the exact day matters, because your age only ticks over on your birthday. EPOCH then shows precisely how many years, months and days old you are today.
Is this age calculator free?
Yes. EPOCH is free, needs no sign-up, and runs entirely in your browser — your date of birth never leaves your device.
Does it count leap years correctly?
It does. The calculation walks the real calendar, so every February 29 between your birth date and today is counted once. There is no 365-day approximation.
Can I calculate the time between two past dates?
Yes — change the second date to any day instead of leaving it on today. EPOCH measures the interval between any two dates, past or recent. For two arbitrary dates, the date duration calculator is purpose-built.
